A little bit about me
Words have always been my passion …
… from the innocent fairytales I read as a child to the wealth of genres I now disappear into as an adult, from lifestyle and biographies through to fantasy novels.
And it brings me so much joy that I get to make a career out of this, offering editing and proofreading services to some of Australia’s leading publishers such as Penguin Random House, Hardie Grant, Allen & Unwin, Pan Macmillan and Acorn Press.
I’m incredibly passionate about working alongside authors to help bring their stories to life, whether that’s through a developmental edit in the initial stages or a proofread at design. It brings me so much joy to see a book come to fruition, and to know that I played some small part in that.

How did I become an editor?
In the early days of my career, I actually held multiple editing roles in the magazine industry, from copy/production editor jobs through to deputy editor of two independent titles. It’s a wealth of experience and knowledge that I truly cherish. It was where I learnt the foundations of editing, and gained so much more experience with working with copy in layout form.
After about eight years, I started my own freelance business, offering copywriting and editing services to a mix of clients, such as non-profits, agencies, and educational institutions—some of which I still work with to this day. It wasn’t long after this that I began approaching book publishers. And I’m so grateful they took a chance on me, even though I came from a different part of the industry!
Now, I’m so excited to be able to offer this wide range of experience, knowledge and skills to my clients.
